Handing Out Hope is a Not-for-Profit organization based in California, set out to promote community and individual empowerment, through the creation and support of specific and varied projects, both domestic and international. Based on feasibility and need, the methods of accomplishment include: fostering education, funding charitable projects, and facilitating communication and cooperation among individuals, groups and other relevant entities.
Handing out Hope is an organization with the mission of enabling and empowering underprivileged communities throughout the world by providing education, sharing ideas, and funding charitable projects. The aim is promoting self-reliance and providing opportunities for these communities to be less dependent on global assistance.
A grassroots organization established this year, Handing Out Hope has its site set on providing the most effective assistance to identified communities and groups, based on their needs. The following projects currently receive our support and/or are in development: Plattenberg Bay Township Pre-School in South Africa, providing education expenses for 150 school children; Beacon of Hope Youth Center in Mozambique, providing livestock and agricultural projects for the Center, which will help alleviate the financial operations-burden on the center; Neema Village “Well-Being” Project in Tanzania, which will provide for the construction of a water well. This would save time and energy and possibly allow the children (usually charged with making the long daily treks to fetch water) the opportunity to attend school; City Gates School for Gifted Children and Cagayan de Oro Orphanage in the Philippines; Schools on Wheels in Central Los Angeles.
Handing Out Hope currently sponsors selected orphans’ elementary education for one year at City Gates School for Gifted Children with the possibility for extension, providing necessary supplies and funding.
